What we do
We’re the UK’s largest railway operator, managing four train companies in the south of England.

Southern

Southern services go from London to the South Coast, like Brighton, Southampton, Portsmouth, Chichester and Eastbourne.
Thameslink

Thameslink runs services between Bedford and Brighton, passing through London, as well as serving Luton Airport and Gatwick Airport.
Gatwick Express

Gatwick Express provides services between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport, with some services continuing to Brighton as well.
Great Northern

Great Northern gets our passengers from London to Cambridge, King’s Lynn and Peterborough.
Our train service punctuality and reliability
From April 2019, we are publishing a new measure of train punctuality as part of national plans to improve train service performance, reduce delays and increase transparency with ‘to the minute’ punctuality data. It is known as ‘On time’ and records punctuality at each station along a journey.
The current data known as the public performance measure (PPM) considers a train to be on time if it arrives within 5 minutes of its scheduled arrival time (or 10 minutes for long distance operators).
